In 2019 I approached Business Manager Shimko about creating an avenue in which the Local would have better means to help the Monmouth & Ocean Counties communities as well as provide a service to our members. Through that inquiry, with the assistance of our Executive Board and the guidance of our team of professionals, the IBEW Local 400 Benevolent Fund was born.
Our objective was simply: Provide scholarship opportunities for our members’ children, increase community outreach and do it at zero cost to our membership. 100% of the funding comes from donations, with all proceeds going directly to scholarships and charitable organizations. Since 2020, we have been able to provide nearly forty scholarships to the children of our membership.
